Basildon, Town Centre One small single room to rent in three bedroom flat in Basildon, Essex. Excellent transport links - would suit someone who needs to commute to London. I work from home as a freelance translator. Must like dogs because our fury burglar alarm is my young male Rottweiler, Ozzy, a total tart who will do anything for a biscuit. Smoker welcome. For my part, I am looking for someone happy to leave me to do the shopping and the majority of the cooking (at least to begin with) as I think waste is evil and it is common sense to share stuff like tea, coffee, bread, milk, eggs, bacon etc. Also I don't want my French Le Creuset sausepans scratched by people who use metal spoons instead of wooden ones! With previous lodgers I have happily provided a wide choice of meals at various times of the day - which was ideal for Scott (22) who lodged with me until last Wednesday, and who only left because the ideal property came up for him and his girlfriend to share. He did shift work so happily contributed extra towards the shopping financially while leaving the vouchers and the bus trips to Tesco Pitsea to me. Scott got on very well with Ozzy the Rotteiler and had no problem taking him with to buy a newspaper in the morning, and it would be nice if our next lodger develops the same confidence and obliging manner.
